Nitro League
Designing the immersive metaverse experience that secured $5M in VC funding
The Challenge
Nitro League needed to convince 15 venture firms that a metaverse racing game built on blockchain was a fundable, scalable business. The UX had to serve two audiences simultaneously: gamers who wanted an immersive racing experience, and investors who needed to understand the virtual land economy and NFT mechanics at a glance.
The Process
Discovery: 2-week stakeholder sprint with founders to align on the product vision, the blockchain mechanics, and the investor narrative
Created 5 detailed user personas spanning gamer types (casual racer, NFT collector, land speculator, team organiser, spectator)
Designed the virtual land sale UI — a 3D-inspired grid map where users could explore, purchase, and develop their racing circuit parcels
Built the NFT marketplace flow from browsing through bidding to wallet connection, reducing the complexity of Web3 transactions for mainstream gamers
Designed the investor-facing website with a dual narrative: the game experience above the fold, the tokenomics and roadmap below
Led 3 moderated usability testing sessions with 8 participants each — iterated the onboarding flow 4 times based on findings
The Outcome
The product design contributed to Nitro League securing $5 million from 15 venture capital firms. The website drove significant waitlist sign-ups and the virtual land sale sold out within 48 hours of launch.
